This site exists to provide an easily accessible repository for sets of best practices that should be followed in the everday work activities that provide information services and solutions for UNL. The primary audience for this site is UNL Information Services personnel; however, it can also serve as a resource to all UNL personnel.
The best practices presented within this site are a guide to the preferred and expected way various information services related activities should be done. They exist to enhance the reliability, consistency, and quality of the information services and solutions delivered by the UNL Information Services organization. Deviation from these best practices should be done only after careful consideration of the necessary drivers and the consequences of that deviation and after consultation with IS leadership. Best practices are not cast in stone; to remain relevant and effective they are expected to continually evolve as the world and information technology around us continually evolve.
