Information Systems Specialist (req #080537)

Position is responsible for the analysis and programming of secure campus-wide information systems and services, with an emphasis on support for the Student Information System. Duties include project management, database development, distributed processing, needs assessment, security planning, selection of developed hardware and software solutions, design, implementation and support.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus three years computer programming experience required; equivalent education/experience considered. Demonstrated knowledge of various computer architectures, operating systems and programming languages necessary. Must be proficient in Java programming. Excellent written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to initiate and facilitate team oriented involvement and discussions essential. Demonstrated project management experience required.

Experience in a higher education environment preferred. Experience with Oracle, DB2 desirable. Experience developing web services helpful. Experience with ASP, ASP.NET, UML, and other languages preferred. Criminal background check will be conducted. Applicant review begins July 14. Telecommunications Manager (req #080536)

Manage daily operations of the Telecommunications operation in Communications and Operations. Provide management and leadership for all Telecommunications operations. Develop and manage annual Service Center budgets within Telecommunications. Provide guidance to Communications and Operations staff who bring projects forward for funding approval. Bachelor's degree plus five years experience to include management responsibility, supervision, customer service, and business and budget planning within the telecom industry required; equivalent education/experience considered.

Must have experience with telecommunications equipment, services and industry. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills essential. New Media Associate (req #080483)

Facilitate multimedia computing activities covering a range of academic and administrative needs of the campus. This includes multimedia needs analysis, recommendation and implementation of software and hardware and technology consultation. Position will manage student-staffed support programs designed to train students in current technology and assist faculty to use technology in courses they teach.

Bachelor's Degree in computing or a related field plus two years experience with current multimedia technology required; equivalency considered. Supervisory experience essential. General working knowledge of and experience with trouble-shooting operating systems and computer hardware necessary. Must have experience with multimedia authoring, utilizing combinations of images, sound, video, and animation. Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills required. Organizational skills necessary.

Programmer (req #080460)

Research and develop student centric services and applications; research emerging technologies in the instructional environment; work with Student Services manager on developing new services. Work on various enhancements for Learning Management Systems and Blackboard and on other programming projects. Develop and maintain associated project documentation. Represent the instructional technology group as needed at departmental meetings. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field plus two years programming experience in Java and/or PHP. Must have demonstrated knowledge of various computer architectures, operating systems, and programming languages. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential.

Web Designer (req #080431)

Responsible for the timely design, creation, and upkeep of both external and internal websites. Position will be available to work on Web design projects as opportunities arise. Associates or equivalent education/experience in art, technology, or related field plus 1 year experience in Web authoring required. Expertise in current internet standards, including Web browsers and browser specifications essential. Knowledge in one or more current web markup or scripting languages (e.g. HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript) necessary. Expertise with at least one Web authoring application and management of Web content essential. Expertise with at least one content management system (joomla, drupal, tec.) required. Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

Attention to detail required. Knowledge of Photo Editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro) preferred. Understanding of dynamic or active Web content and the use of PHP, Perl, CGI, and/or SQL desired. Applicant review begins June 16.
