Network Updates
The information in this section does not apply to UNL ResNet connections.
On July 1, 2009 the price for a network data port changed to $4.30 per month.
Network switch ports will vary depending on the location. In some locations most of the switch ports might be 10/100Mb, while in another location 10/100/1000Mb switch ports are available. The goal is that over time, almost all switch ports on campus will be upgraded to 10/100/1000Mb. Look to the right to view the current upgrade schedule.
The Network Interface Card (NIC) and the network switch ports in each location will determine the maximum connection speed. Information Services suggests configuring NIC's for auto negotiation of speed and duplex. In almost all cases, this is the default so no changes on your part should be required.
