Enhance general purpose classrooms
Project Mgr-Jeff Erb
The objective of this project is to identify equipment that is overdue for replacement. This project will be limited to 73 GP classrooms with equipment installed by Information Services, and may include any product or service that is deemed necessary to support equipment or users in these rooms. Equipment lists and cost summaries will be completed. A schedule for equipment orders & installation will be completed. Finally, as funding allows, installations will be carried out. The project will be closed in July of 2009, upon completion and acceptance of the Project Summary document.
Managed podcast course content
Project Mgr-Todd Jensen
Implement a solution that will enable faculty, staff, and students to easily capture and publish academic digital audio and video content to prescribed distribution venues, specifically myUNL and iTunesU.
Single sign on to web-based services & efficient guest account creation
Project Mgr-Paul Erickson
- Building upon the work already underway by the Identity Management Program, this project will provide web single sign-on services that would allow a user to login once;
but be able to pass to other, cooperative web services without having to login again.
- This project will continue the work being done by the Identity Management Program to provide a method of generating and cleaning up users (usernames, passwords, and identifying information) for individuals not already accommodated by either SIS or SAP processes.
Server virtualization
Project Mgr-Dave Spanel
- Server Virtualization will continue building upon the work already work done by the VMware project by taking the "test VMware environment" into a production environment.
Email for life for students and alumni
Project Mgr-Dave Spanel
Lifelong Email for Students & Alumni will complete the deployment of an outsourced email service 'Microsoft Exchange Labs' for students and Alumni of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Five year network enhancement plan
Project Mgr-Dale Finkelson
Engage and work with a consulting firm to develop a written plan for the campus network over the next 5 years.
Campus portal infrastructure (e-commerce)
Project Mgr-Grace Wang
The objective of this project is to estimate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to implement campus wide e-Commerce solution. It is to identify the technology components requirements and costs, customer technical support, personnel costs and merchants training needed to launch three phases eCommerce solution based on Magento system at UNL. The TCO report with low failover in production for five years will be generated as well as financial recommendations.
The project has been completed.
